Zinsser Analytic is well known for workbench automation systems for drug discovery and material science. The company was founded in 1972 in Frankfurt, Germany for the distribution of consumables for liquid scintillation. Since 1979 automated liquid handling systems with customized software have been installed in laboratories all over the world.
In 1989 Zinsser Analytic and Boehringer Ingelheim KG were granted a patent on the first automated parallel synthesizer for solid phase peptide synthesis. The issue of this patent and the method have lead to the beginning of today’s combinatorial chemistry.
Today, Zinsser has specialized in developing, producing and distributing flexible automated systems for combinatorial chemistry and tools for drug discovery.
